Amer Fort - Jaipur

Amer Palace , Amer killa in hindi , also spelled and pronounced as Amber is located in Amer, a town with an area of 4 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi) located 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) from Jaipur, Rajasthan state, India, is one of the most famous forts of Rajasthan.
Amer was once in 11th to the 16th century, known as Dhundar and was ruled by the Kachhwahas until the capital was moved from Amer to Jaipur. Earlier to the Kachwahas, Amer was a small place built by Meenas in the town they sacred to Amba, the Mother Goddess, whom they knew as 'Gatta Rani' or 'Queen of the Pass'. After that Amer Fort was built by Raja Man Singh in 1592 AD and Raja Jai Sigh I extended and refurbished it later. The fort was made in red sand stone and white marble. Amer Fort is Combination of rugged threatening exterior belies and inner paradise with a beautiful fusion of art and architecture. This fort is the classic and romantic fort-palace with a magnificent aura Which attracts the large no. of tourist every year. The inner wall of the palace portray expressive painting with carvings, expensive stones and mirror work and the Maotha Lake adds a certain charm to the entire Fort. As the fort is pretty old and may even look so from the outside, it is beautiful on the inside and boasts of various buildings of eminence like the 'Diwan-i-Aam', the 'Sheesh Mahal' and even the 'Sukh Mahal'. The Amer Fort has imapct of both Hindu and Muslim construction. This fort also has the 'Shila Devi' Temple and the 'Ganesh Pol' which is a gate that directs to the private palaces of the kings. Amer fort was built mainly for the warring enemies as a military place, the heavily structured walls could defend the residents within the ramparts of the fort. The Amer Fort has many pavilions and halls of great interest and other popular attractions.
